Reunion Cancelled for June 30th
We have cancelled events for the weekend of June 30th. We are looking at maybe doing something in the fall. If you would be interested in attending something in the fall, please comment to this blog or check out the facebook page to post your comments.

Final Plans
We have decided to make our reunion a family picnic in the park on June 30th from around 11m to 2 pm at Enchanted Lands Park. Lunch and drinks will be provided. There are still some costs so tickets will be $10/adult and $5/children over 2. We are hoping to have enough people RSVP to rent a bounce house and maybe other games. There is also a frisbee golf course there that we are welcome to use. If you are interested in coming we will need to know NO LATER than June 1st. You do not have to pay at this time (although it is preferred!) We would like to have a head count so we can make food preparations accordingly. Please let us know ASAP that you can make it along with how many people are coming with you. Changes Made
Due to a lack of RSVP's for Saturday nights event for the reunion, some changes are having to be made. The event at the Sally Port has been cancelled and we are interested in knowing if anyone is still interested in getting together that night. We need some ideas of what we could do or if we should just cancel. There have been a few people interested in golf but not many and we are at a crossroads as to what to do. Please comment to this blog or post on the fb page as to what you would like to do for the weekend. Are you still interested in attending a reunion? Do we need to plan something that costs less? We will make decisions Friday May 11 as to what to do. Thanks in advance for your input, honesty and timely response.

Reminder
Well, it is the middle of April and we have had only a handful of tickets purchased for the reunion dinner event on Saturday night. The reunion is 2 and a half months away but the deadline to purchase your tickets is quickly approaching. We set the date for May 1st so we could have time to get all the door prizes, decor, food lined up in plenty of time but time is running out. So, here is the plan. The deadline to send your money in for tickets has been moved back to May 15th. HOWEVER, you must send a written confirmation of how many tickets you will be purchasing to qandaray@gmail.com, no later than May 1st. (That's Q as in quack on the address)
Here is the budget we are looking at: We started out with NO money and are depending on ticket sales to make the event happen. Saturday nights event is costing ~$5,000. To make this happen, we need to sell at least 80 tickets at $60/per person. We have sold about 10 so far and that is counting the planning committee members. At this point the committee is not going to proceed with any other planning until we can get tickets sold. There is a chance Saturday night's event will be cancelled OR that the price of tickets will increase if you wait to buy yours at the last minute. Please do not wait. We would hate to have to cancel because people are just waiting to buy their tickets at the door.
We have tried to reach out to all GHS graduates from the class of 2002 but if you know of someone who does not know about the reunion, isn't on facebook or hasn't heard about the blog, please let them know. We have tried to get the word out without spending much.
The committee is looking forward to seeing everyone and is very excited about the events we have planned. We hope you will buy your tickets soon!

Still Interested???
Time is sure flying by and reunion weekend will be here before we know it. There are several things the committee is wanting to get done but we have had not had anyone purchase tickets for Saturday night's event. In order to have enough money to even keep our venue, we need a financial commitment from at least 80 people. The deadline for purchasing tickets is still May 1, but unfortunately, if we do not have at least 80 tickets purchased by then, we will not have the money to cover the cost of the venue and it will not be economically feasible to hold the event on Saturday night. We would also like to take out an ad in the Roswell Daily Record to reach out to anyone who may not already know about the reunion but that also requires money which we do not yet have. Please consider purchasing your tickets ASAP if you are planning on attending Saturday night. Information about how you can purchase your tickets can be found in previous blog postings.

Purchasing Tickets
As a friendly reminder we would like to let everyone know that you can go ahead and purchase your tickets for the reunion dinner on June 30th. The deadline to make your purchases is May 1st but if you are able to purchase yours at this time we encourage you to do so. There are a lot of ideas we have brewing for the evening and need your help in making them possible. We are hoping to get the ball rolling on several things soon so that we are not scrambling the last minute. If you are coming please purchase your tickets as soon as you are able.
(I can't help but feel like Spanky in the Little Rascals as I type this. The scene where he's holding a megaphone and yelling at people at the fair to "Give us your money! We need money!" I hope it doesn't sound like this to you.)

Do You Want to Play Golf?
Would you like to play a round with the NM Girls AAAA State Golf Champion from 2002?
Maybe you're interested in sharing a golf cart with a soon to be PGA Pro and one who has played in golf tournaments with the likes of Heff's very own Playboy Bunnies.
Well we have some information for you! You will want to set your morning aside on Saturday June 30, 2012 to play golf with other GHS Alumni and their spouses at the NMMI Golf Course. Here's how you can get your tee time and reserve your cart today!
The deadline to book is June 1st but the sooner your make your make your tee times the better. Cost will be $25-$30 per person. The NMMI Golf Course is conveniently located directly behind the Sally Port Inn (in case you forgot) so it's even more convenient if you are staying at the hotel.
